Responsible Gaming

Gambling is entertainment with a cost attached. The maths favours the house on every game on this site, in every session, whatever the outcome of any single spin. That is a design fact rather than a warning label, and the tools on this page exist so that the cost stays inside a figure you chose while you were still deciding calmly.

Set the limit before the first deposit

A limit set in advance works. A limit set after a losing session is a decision made at the worst possible moment. Open the account tools before you fund the account and pick a number you would be comfortable losing entirely.

Signs worth taking seriously

These are the patterns that research and treatment services see most often. None of them is a diagnosis, and one on its own is not a crisis — but two or three together are worth acting on.

  • Playing longer or for higher stakes than you planned, repeatedly.
  • Depositing again straight after a loss to win it back.
  • Gambling with money set aside for rent, bills or food.
  • Borrowing to gamble, or hiding what you have spent from people close to you.
  • Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut down.
  • Gambling to change how you feel rather than for entertainment.

Free, confidential help in the UK

These services are independent of us. They cost nothing, they do not require you to close your account first, and they will talk to you whether or not you think the problem is serious.

  • GamCare runs the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, 24 hours a day, with live chat at gamcare.org.uk.
  • GambleAware publishes self-assessment tools and referrals to local treatment at gambleaware.org.
  • Gordon Moody provides residential and intensive treatment for severe gambling harm at gordonmoody.org.uk.
  • Citizens Advice and StepChange help with the debt side, which often needs handling in parallel.

Blocking software

A national self-exclusion register cannot reach a site outside it, so please do not register here if you have self-excluded from gambling anywhere. Device-level blocking software — Gamban, BetBlocker and similar — covers operators those schemes do not reach, and it is the practical way to close that gap. Most banks also offer a gambling block on card transactions, switched on inside the banking app.

Protecting under-18s

Registration requires you to be 18 or over, and verification checks it. If a phone, tablet or computer is shared with someone under 18, use family filtering software and never let the browser store your password. Leaving an account signed in on a shared device is the most common way a minor reaches a gambling site.

Closing your account

Cooling-off and self-exclusion sit in the account tools and take effect at once. If you would rather close the account for ordinary reasons, email the request from your registered address. Any withdrawable balance is paid out before closure; bonus funds still in wagering are forfeited, which is worth knowing before you send the request.
